Summer Opportunities Fair

Held annually in January, this popular event connects employers with students seeking summer work, from part-time jobs to career-related opportunities, and international experiences.

The cost to register for the Summer Opportunities Fair depends on the package you select. There are 3 (three) packages:

Registration Deadline

The deadline to register is Friday, January 15, 2020.  Registration may close earlier if the maximum number of spots has been reached.

Booth Setup & Hours

Booth set up begins at 8:30 a.m. and includes:

  • Skirted table with white table cloth and chair
  • Internet and electricity if requested 

Summer Opportunities Fair hours are 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Shipping Your Materials

If you are shipping ahead of time, please ensure their arrival to the Career Services office by 4:00 p.m. on Friday January 17th, 2020. The packages will then be awaiting you at your assigned booth on the day of the fair.

Items must be clearly labeled and directed as follows:

  • Exhibitor's Name

Parking options are as follows:

1. Stuart Street underground parking

  • the lot will fill in the early morning
  • parking validation cards are available at our registration desk – when exiting the garage, you would insert your white ticket first and then your validation coupon.

2. Tindall Field above ground parking lot (Union St and Albert St) or St. Mary’s Parking (340 Union Street)

  • Permit parking only – day pass permits are available at our registration desk

3. Street parking

  • There is some pay and display parking on various streets around campus (typically meters have a 3 hour limit).

Cancellation Policy

Please send notice of cancellation in writing to If notice of an exhibitor cancelling their registration is received 14 days or more before the event, a full refund of the registration fee less a $100 administrative fee will be given. 

If the cancellation is received after the 14 day cut-off date, no refund will be issued. This policy applies whether or not payment was submitted at the time of online registration - exhibitors who cancel within the 14 day cut-off date will still receive an invoice. 

Exhibitors who register for the Fair but do not attend on the day of the event will be required to pay the full cost of registration for the Fair. No registration will be accepted for a future event until payment for the unattended Fair is submitted.

Sponsorship Opportunities
Sponsorship is an excellent way to build brand awareness among your target student audience. Who is the student audience at this event?
This Fair attracts upwards of 1,000 students annually from all years, programs, and disciplines.
How do students prepare for this event?
Queen's students can access Career Services resources such as counseling year-round. During the academic year, qualified counselors run student workshops, including a series on preparing for each Career Fair. 
Students are encouraged to read our exhibitor guide and do their research before attending. On the day of the event, many bring their resume and are prepared to set up an interview. 
Once at the Fair, students are greeted and briefed by our counselors.
How can I maximize my impact at the Fair?
  • Send representatives who can speak directly to your current opportunities, especially Queen's alumni or other new graduates who can connect with students. 
  • Maximize your impact at the fair through sponsorship of our LinkedIn Booth, On-Site Resume Clinic, or Student Ambassador Apparel.
  • Maintain a year-round presence on campus in print and online with an Advertisement Package.
  • Build your brand awareness with students through an Information Session Package.
  • Post your summer job opportunities to our MyCareer portal to reach as many Queen's students as possible.
